Our New Vanad Proxima Cutting Machine
A crucial part of our production starts at the cutting machine, where we primarily work with plasma cutting. In our case, that means: a whole lot of electricity combined with gas and oxygen. This setup allows us to cut steel plates up to 50 mm thick.
Castellated Beams
One of the most innovative applications here is the production of castellated beams. Thanks to our cutting software, we can incorporate cambers and markings directly into the cutting process, delivering fully prepped steel for the next stage. By cutting an H- or I-beam in a specific pattern and welding the halves together in a staggered configuration, we create a deeper beam with greater load-bearing capacity—while using less steel. This results not only in cost savings, but also in more efficient assembly and transport.
Our cutting machine can cut beams up to 34 meters in length. Where our previous machine needed up to two hours for a 34-meter beam, our current machine completes the job in just ten minutes—with built-in fume extraction and minimal waste.
The longest span we’ve ever produced using this method? 57 meters.
Whether it’s plates for connections or castellated beams: with this machine, we’re not just cutting steel—we’re cutting time and waste. A sharp start to every structure.
