Schiphol Excellence Parking is a covered and exclusive parking garage that is directly connected to departure hall 3 via a connecting bridge.
The garage features extra wide parking spaces, a comfortable waiting area with, among other things, free Wi-Fi, and can accommodate 400 cars. Thanks to a special roof construction applied by Holland Staal, a saving of 5% on the total contract sum was achieved.

“In the design of the roof, rolled tubes 400/200/100 were prescribed. We found these too expensive and too heavy. The competition proposed to use rolled IPE 450 beams. Our idea to apply RIPE 330/450 grid girders won. This meant lower material and galvanizing costs, no costs for rolling. Moreover, we demonstrated that the prescribed fire-resistant coating was not at all necessary; a 2-layer powder coating was sufficient. And that also saved on costs.”
